I've played mine quite a bit and I will vouch for you and say that the ass'n has more useless skills than any other profession. And that what makes them useless is the way they are grouped in my opinion. You are correct that there tends to be less room on a ass'n skillbar, even if we all have the same number of skill slots. The chaining takes up that room, and one block/evade or miss can disrupt everything making half your skill bar useless for a few seconds. That's the nature of the profession though.

But I will repeat, Nightfall made playing the ass'n much easier and more enjoyable through the addition of several good skills. I love some of the new skills.

The CS enhancements work well when coupled with paragon GftE shouts. Make them work for you. This is much easier to do in PvE than PvP. For the life of me I can't figure why I've not seen P/A teams chaining go for the eyes with these enhancements on.

Lead attacks,
So many lead attacks are lame and offer no incentive to put on your skillbar. I agree other than their path to the off-hand or dual, which can be skipped totally with hex and enhancement management.

basicly whole Deadly Arts(with exceptions of SS and ED),
Deadly Arts are back in style with some new skills from NF. Deadly paradox and deadly haste (in crit. strikes) makes for a great degen / conditions / interrupt addition to the team. Disrupting dagger and critical daggers are spells -- Follow with Asp for KD and poison, which is a spell too I believe. If the team is beating on the target, toss Mark of Death ftw.

Deadly Arts remain largely under-utilized.

some from Shadow Arts(Shadow Form-too risky to use, Shadow Shroud, Beguiling Haze) and almost all shadowsteps.
Most of the warping skills aren't enough to bail you out of serious trouble I agree. The ones that are can be found in no-attribute. And I agree with your summary of elites, but I do enjoy a Deady Arts / Seeping Wound build with a necro secondary. It's a massive degen build that keeps you away from melee damage. With a good monk behind you, you can degen far better than a ranger. Or go DA / Curses with Feast of Corruption elite. It works nice.

Maybe because they last only 10sec with 0 CS? Besides, the only so-so worth bringing enchantment is Assassin's Remedies. The others never were and won't be on my skillbar if they remain as they are now.

I hold other opinion about them. If skills itself suck(and mostly, with few exceptions, DA skills suck), skills like Deadly Paradox won't make them look "omg what cool skills I want them on my skillbar!!!"

To tell the truth, if something kills an enemy, it surely wasn't that conditional -3 degen. If I want high degen build, I always go with Virulence, 100 times better Elite than SW, which is effective even with little investment in Death Magic.

The problem is not lack of survial by anymeans how anyone can say a class with skills like shadow of haste/dark escape/friegn netruialty dies alot is behond me. The problem are people making these pure attack skill bars and lerroying mobs. Warriors are the oppiste all the crappy warrior load up on stances and enchants put 9 in weapon atribute and spam power attacking hoping to kill something. People seem to forget why so many people in gvg go assasin secondary for the defence skills.

So stop whining assassins... before you, the mesmers had it tough... so grow some balls and learn to play with henchies.
i think you get the op point real well and its what i think too, i have one toon on each prof, i know some of them i play better and more than others, but i feel like that with my sin, the fact i finish prophecies with her before get past vizunah square, just cuz my sin was refused infinite times before on partys, i just left her abandoned cuz of that. class hate make the "there is no bad class only bad players" statement a little hipocrite, sins are avoided all time.

i just feel sad cuz i like the class a lot.

one thing I've noticed is people think Warriors , Monks, eles, necros, rangers, sort of mesmers are really good.

But they hate assassins, rits, dervish, paragons... I think half a year isn't enough time compared to how long they spent on prophecies. I wouldn't mind waiting an extra 3 or 4 years for a new really good chapter... it'd give me time to save up.

how about this, special feature to assasin is stealing anything.but not from foes, from npc!!i suggest make stealing atribute so you get more chance to steal.but if you get caught by the npc that youre stealing, you will give the money back or go to ingame jail(haha make ingame jail)!!!!but if you steal to many times and get caught many time, you need to pay more than the money you steal.if you dont have enough money to payback, the npc will take some of your items!!!thats my suggestion about the stealing.

Ok I play an assassin a good part of the time and here is my two cents...

First, I see a lot of people start off as tanks and get into the whole leroy jenkins family business rather than starting as a more in depth class like rangers or paragons. I beat hell's precipiece first run with a ranger playing like a paragon (tactics shouts, barrage, interrupts) so when I switched to assassin it wasn't really that bad. The thing that makes an assassin is damage given not taken. For everyone who complains about shiro's high req probably has never tried maxed dagger mastery. My best advice is get creative and find out what works for you.

If you are worried about survival the vigor sin build is easlily modded. I have a custom one that has aura of displacement, and two attack chains. It easily takes out stance tanks and such although I have yet to test it on this new invincidervish since I'm working on a p/w

As for stealing, Most of guild wars is about fighting so unless you plan on stealing 3 gold from lvl 8 characters I wouldn't advise this skill. Farm items or use your ab faction for mats to sell (jade or amber)

As for invisibility theres shadow form and teleports. I work my assassin well enough with Aura of displacement because nothing ticks a Kurzick mob off more than following a sin from a cap just to have it poof back there when they're on the other side of the map. Also coming from someone who plays a ranger. There are enough stances for blocking evading and running.

As for copies its like several people before said. This is guild wars not naruto. If you want a decoy, get a pet they have 80 armor and with the efficiency that an assassin can kill someone (especially with apply poison) you can have them decoy go in kill and then heal. Factions added all the "as one" skills to help in that aspect.
